Instant Pindi Chana-( Masala garbanzo beans or chickpeas ) Gluten Free
Ingredients:
- 2 cartons of Garbanzo beans
- 1 big or 2 small tomatoes - cut in cubes
- 2 Green serrano peppers- julianed and deseeded.
- 1 inch of ginger- julianed.
- I boiled potato peeled and cut in cubes
- Juice of 1 lemon
Chana masala - 2 tsp
Garam masala - 1 tsp
Dry mango powder - 2 tsp
Salt - 2 tsp
Red chilli powder - 1 tsp
Carom seeds- ajwain -1/2 tsp
Oil- 1 1/2 tbsp for tempering.
Method:
- Open the garbanzo beans can . Put the beans in a colander and wash it thoroughly.Transfer them in a pan.
- Mix all the spices with the garbanzo beans except carom seeds and oil.
- Now all tomatoes, green peppers, ginger julians and boiled potato cubes.
- In another pan heat the oil till it emits smoke. Add carom seeds and quickly pour the hot oil on the garbanzo beans mixture.
- Put the pan on the stove for 5-7 minutes. Lightly mix the oil. Once the oil is coated to all the garbanzo beans and tomatoes little tender, the pindi chana is done.
- Finish it with lemon juice.
Note: You may eat this chana with naan, paratha, bhatura or poori.
