Instant Pindi Chana-( Masala garbanzo beans or chickpeas ) Gluten Free



 Ingredients:

  1. 2 cartons of Garbanzo beans
  2. 1 big or 2 small tomatoes - cut in cubes
  3. 2 Green serrano peppers- julianed and deseeded.
  4. 1 inch of ginger- julianed.
  5. I boiled potato peeled and cut in cubes
  6. Juice of 1 lemon
 Spices :

Chana masala - 2 tsp
Garam masala - 1 tsp
Dry mango powder - 2 tsp
Salt - 2 tsp
Red chilli powder - 1 tsp
Carom seeds- ajwain -1/2 tsp

Oil- 1 1/2 tbsp for tempering.

Method:

  1.   Open the garbanzo beans can . Put the beans in a colander and wash it thoroughly.Transfer them in a pan.
  2. Mix all the spices with the garbanzo beans except carom seeds and oil.
  3. Now all tomatoes, green peppers, ginger julians and boiled potato cubes.
  4. In another pan heat the oil till it emits smoke. Add carom seeds and quickly pour the hot oil on the garbanzo beans mixture.
  5. Put the pan on the stove for 5-7 minutes. Lightly mix the oil. Once the oil is coated to all the garbanzo beans and tomatoes little tender, the pindi chana is done.
  6. Finish it with lemon juice.

Note: You may eat this chana with naan, paratha, bhatura or poori.
