Healthy Oats for Breakfast




Ingredients:
  1. Quick cooking oats - 1/2 cup
  2. Water - 1 cup.
  3. Milk  - 1 cup
  4. Cinnamon powder - 1/8 teaspoon
  5. Almonds - 5 crushed
  6. Raisins - 10
  7.  Dried Apricots-2-3 finely chopped
  8. Sugar or honey - 1 teaspoon or according to taste

Method:
  1.   Heat the water in a pan.  Add oats. Turn down the heat once it gets bubbles.
  2. Add milk , cinnamon powder , almonds, raisins and apricots. Let it cook for 1 to 2 minutes.
  3. Add sugar/honey .
  4. Pour it in a cup and you have breakfast on a go.
Note:
  1. You may omitt sugar or honey altogether . The raisins and apricots provide enough sweetness. I like to add splenda once in a while.
  2. You may cool it a bit and add fresh cut strawberries or apples or fruit of your choice.
  3. It is a healthy recipe and keeps you full till lunch time.
  4. You may use 0% , 2% or whole milk according to your preference. I used 2% in this recipe.
