Chilli Paneer- Indian cottage cheese with bell peppers. Gluten Free



 Ingredients:

  1. Red, yellow, orange and green bell peppers- cut in 1 inch cubes - 2 cups.
  2. Onion - 1 big cut in cubes
  3. Oil - 2 tablespoons
  4. Indian cottage cheese (Paneer) - 1 cup (cut in cubes)
  5. Cumin seeds (Jeera) - 1 teaspoon
  6. Red chilli powder -1 teaspoon
  7. Ajinimoto -1/4 teaspoon
  8. Soya sauce - 1 table spoon
  9. Chinese chilli garlic sauce - 1 table spoon (2 if you like really hot)
  10. Garlic - 5-6 pods crushed
  11. Salt -1 teaspoon

Method:

  1. Heat the oil in the pan.  Add cumin seeds.  As soon as the cumin  starts  spluttering, add crushed garlic and saute it till it becomes light golden brown.
  2. Now add onions and saute it till the onions become translucent.  Add all the bell peppers and saute it for 2 to 3 minutes.
  3. Next add red chilli powder, ajinomoto, soyasauce, chilligarlic sauce and salt.
  4. Once the bell peppers become a bit soft, add paneer.  Slowly toss the mixture.  Cook it for two to three minutes more so that everything is well coated.
  5. Chilli paneer is ready!  A must hit at a party.

Note: This is a dry preperation . If you want to have a little gravy , you may add half a cup of water with 2 teaspoons of corn flour and add it at the end and cook for 2- 3 minutes. You will get a glossy gravy.
