Date and almond truffles - Gluten Free Dessert
Ingredients:
Pitted Dates : 1 cup
Roasted almonds : 1/2 cup
Honey : 2 Tbsp
Rose water : 3 - 4 drops
Coconut powder : 1/2 cup
Method:
- Steam the dates by putting them in a seive on the pot of boiling water for 10-15 minutes.
- Let them cool. Peel the outer skin .Put it in a bowl and mash it with wooden spoon until there are no big chunks.
- Boil the almonds in some water. Peel the skin and roast them lightly so that they become fragrant.
- Grind the almonds coarsely in a grinder. Now add them to the bowl of mashed dates.
- Add honey and rose water and mix it well.
- Make small dime size balls and roll them in powdered coconut.
- Date and almond truffles are ready to serve with tea,coffee and after dinner dessert.
- I am planning to make for Diwali and Christmas gifts for my friends and family.
Note : These truffles are very nutritious and gluten free. They are super easy to make.

Variations: If you are allergic to nuts, you can avoid almonds altogether. It will still taste yummy.
