Savory tofu oatbran pancake - Protien diet recipe for vegetarians!






  1.                         









     1. Firm Tofu  - 1/2 a block
  2.   Oat bran                              - 2 Tbsp
  3. Chickpea flour                    - 2 Tbsp
  4. Onion                                  - 2 Tbsp( finely chopped)
  5. Serrano pepper                   -  1/2 ( remove seeds and chopped finely)
  6. Cilantro                              - 1 Tbsp( chopped finely)
  7. Coriander seeds                 - 1 tsp( crushed  coarsely)
  8. Red chilli powder              - 1/2 tsp
  9. Garam masala powder      - 1tsp
  10. Oil spray
  11. Water                                - 3/4  cup
  12. Salt                                   -1&1/2 tsp or according to taste        




Method:


1.  Take a bowl and add chickpea flour with 1/2 cup of  water . Whisk it well to make a smooth paste.
2.  Crumble tofu and add it to the chickpea paste.
3. Now add   oat bran, onions, serano  pepper, cilantro, coriander seeds, red chili powder, garam masala powder, salt and mix well with remaining 1/4 cup water to make pancake like consistency. You may add more water ( one tablespoon at a time) if you find the mixture too thick.
4. Keep it aside for 10 minutes.
5. Turn on the stove and heat a griddle or flat pan on medium heat.
6. Spray oil .
7. Take one ladle full of batter and spread it evenly.  Lightly spray oil on the pancake. Flip it after 2 to 3 minutes when the surface looks almost dry. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes on the other side. Spray with oil and cook for 1 to 2 minutes so that it is evenly cooked.
8. Serve it with non fat plain greek yogurt.
