Coconut laddu ! Gluten free!
Ingredients:
- Dessicated coconut powder : 3 cups
- Dessicated coconut : 1/2 cup in a plate ( for garnishing)
- Condensed milk can :1
- Food color ( red ) : 2 drops ( optional)
- Cardamom powder : 1/4 tea spoon corsely ground
- Unsalted butter :1/4 stick
Method:
- Put the pan on the stove with 1/4 stick of unsalted butter and turn on the heat.
- When the butter starts melting , add the condensed milk and food color. Mix well.
- Now add 3 cups of dessicated coconut and mix well. Turn the heat to medium low and constantly mix till all the mixture comes together . It will just take two to three minutes.
- Turn off the heat and add cardamom powder. Let it cool down for few minutes till u can handle it. Kindly make sure that the mixture does not turn cold otherwise laddoos cannot be made.
- Oil your hands and make ping pong size balls and roll them in 1/2 cup of dessicated coconte in the plate so that it covers all over.
- Ladoos are ready for prasad or dessert .
Note:
- Please check the label for ingredients list for food coloring if you want them to be gluten free or you can leave it altogether.
- Coconut tends to burn very fast. Make sure you are cooking on medium low heat.
- This is a very easy recipe and tastes very good. You can add different colors to make different laddoos. Be creative with the dough. I tried making a flower .
- Do not overcook. It will make the laddoos hard.
